Collective Event Group Supports Delaware Seashore State Park 6th annual paddlefest

Collective Event Group sponsored Delaware Seashore Park’s 2022 Paddlefest and it was a huge success! There were over 250 paddlers, and over 500 people attended the After-Party! We love supporting events that allow continued success of educational programs at Delaware Seashore State Park and the Indian River Life-Saving Station Museum. Events like Paddlefest allow for more accessible costs for visitors and program participants.

Collective Event Group Acquires Parties & More to Increase Geographic Footprint in Philadelphia and Delaware Valley

Avondale, PA: Collective Event Group has announced the acquisition of Parties & More in Bensalem, Pennsylvania to their portfolio of event rental companies. This enables Collective Event Group to continue their aggressive growth strategy and geographic footprint within the tri-state area; specifically in the Philadelphia and Delaware Valley region.

Parties & More has been serving the needs of the Greater Philadelphia and the Delaware Valley for over fifty years, starting as a hardware store back in 1955 in Southhampton, PA owned by Edward and Patricia Ward. In 1991, Robert Strong joined the Ward family and helped John Ward aggressively grow the party rental business, building a core staff to focus on this division. In 1996, the name changed to “Parties & More” as they needed a new identity for their booming event rental business. They relocated to their current location in Bensalem, PA at that time.

Parties & More has a dedicated commercial linen division and also provides event rental equipment such as tables, chairs, and tabletop items. All management at Parties & More will continue to stay in place during this acquisition.

“We are excited about our acquisition of Parties & More to Collective Event Group,” says President Eric Schuibbeo. “This enables us to reach a broader scope of clientele as well as enhance our current product lines.”

Collective Event Group is comprised of four current companies: Avondale Tents & Events, servicing the southeastern PA and Cecil County, MD; Event Central servicing Central PA and Northern MD; Rental City servicing southern New Jersey; and Dover Tents & Events servicing the entire state of Delaware including its beach areas, alongside the Eastern Shore of Maryland, and the Chesapeake Bay area.

All companies have begun the rebrand process into Collective Event Group name and all inventory is now aligned under one internal rental inventory system, offering a convenient and straightforward client experience for both their private and commercial business. With showrooms, inventory, and staff spread across PA, NJ, DE, and MD, Collective Event Group can fulfill orders and provide onsite solutions for events hosted throughout the region.

Since 2015, Collective Event Group’s President Eric Schuibbeo has focused on acquiring like-minded companies to bring under the umbrella of Collective. “As we continue our expansion via acquisitions, we are very strategic on how each will improve the overall experience for our fantastic customer base,” says Eric. “Using the name Collective Event Group companywide will allow us to build a recognizable name across all of our locations, but also enables future acquisitions to be integrated at a more efficient pace.”

Collective Event Group is a full-service rental company offering tents, tables, chairs, linen, flooring, lighting and dinnerware and is a fully owned subsidiary of Schuibbeo Holdings Inc.

Collective Event Group rebrands previously acquired businesses

Feb. 20, 2022

Collective Event Group recently acquired Parties & More and is now rebranding all previously acquired locations. These locations include Event Central, Mechanicsburg, Pa.; Avondale Tents & Events, Avondale; Rental City, Vineland, N.J.; and Dover Tents & Events, Dover.

As a result, Collective Event Group will have four showroom locations in a total of four states, including Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Inventory also will be aligned under one software system.

“For the last several years, our locations have continued to operate under their individual legacy names. We felt this was important initially, since each company location has a long-standing history and foundation in their individual communities,” said Meghan Garrison, vice president of sales and marketing, Collective Event Group. Garrision was previously branch manager of Dover Tents & Events.

“The rebrand will not only unify our team internally; it will create a convenient and cohesive way to ensure that our valuable clients are receiving the best service and wide range of products, spanning four states, with more to follow,” she said.

“We are excited about our rebranding effort as well as adding another location on the outskirts of Philadelphia,” said Eric Schuibbeo, president, Collective Event Group. “This enables us to reach a broader scope of clientele as well as enhance our current product lines.”

Since 2004, Schuibbeo has focused on acquiring like-minded companies to bring under the umbrella of Collective Event Group. “As we continue our expansion via acquisitions, we are very strategic on how each will improve the overall experience to our fantastic customer base. Using the name Collective Event Group companywide will allow us to build a recognizable name across all of our locations, but also enables future acquisitions to be integrated at a more efficient pace.”

History Of Parties & More

It all started with a hardware store. Back in 1955, Edward and Patricia Ward opened a hardware store to serve a growing community located in Southampton, PA. From the store opening in 1955 until it was sold in 1970, the Wards learned a lot about the growing community and its needs. One particular day, Ed was helping a customer who wanted to purchase a lawn mower but did not have enough money. That moment sparked the idea of having items available for rent. In 1974, the Ward family opened WARDS RENTS with the enthusiasm and leadership of their son John. Having grown up working with his father, John continued to grow the family business with the same hard work and dedication the community had come to appreciate.

By 1984 it became very clear that the growth of the community presented more “life events”, such as weddings, birthdays, graduations, and other celebrations. From these, a new market was waiting to be serviced and the party rental was born.

From 1985 to 1990 it was a department within the larger tool rentals. All of the pieces were in place but the department needed its own personnel and a person to focus on developing the party segment. John realized his primary role was to oversee the future company. So in 1991, Robert Strong, who had just finished college and had been working in the party rental department during his summer breaks, joined full time. John and Rob created a plan to aggressively grow the party rental business and build a core staff.

By 1996 it was obvious that the party rental was going to need a new identity and thus Parties and More was born! Since that time we relocated our operation to a 30,000 square foot building in Bensalem, PA. We employ 26 full time staff and 10 part-time staff members who focus 100% of their time serving homeowners, businesses, schools, hospitals, hotels and many other establishments.

Ed Ward has since passed on and John has retired, leaving Rob and the crew to continue the vision. Parties and More was acquitted by Collective Event Group in 2022, and today we welcome the opportunity to serve you, our customers. Please know that we value you and thank you for your patronage. And to think, it all started with a hardware store!
